Last Horizon just got a major update! (STEAM, iOS & Android)
We’ve added a new gameplay mode “ESCAPE”. It’s for those who are looking for a serious challenge and a lot more replay value. It can be brutal, but it’s also really thrilling.
Start out on a hostile alien world & escape as fast as you can. The alien marauders are relentless and pursue you until the end, so don’t get complacent when gathering resources. Enjoy tricking them into smashing into each other, getting sucked into a black hole, or zip into an asteroid field and watch them not be able to deal. Gravity is increased in ESCAPE, as well as the number of asteroids, meteorites and comets. Every playthrough is randomly generated.
ESCAPE includes a new music track “Corona” by Miles Tilmann and Rich Grillotti.
Also in the update - all game modes are now also unlocked from the start! so if you’re stuck on one mode, just try another. You might have better luck. Flight Z and Escape are randomly generated, so replay value has just uncreased quite a bit!
Last Horizon is 25% off on STEAM right now
Enjoy! And good luck with ESCAPE mode. You can do it!
And if you are feeling extra nice, perhaps help us spread the word:

LAST HORIZON has launched on STEAM:

A minimalist space adventure about the last remaining human searching the vast unknown for a new home.
We hope you enjoy it :)
Our latest game, LAST HORIZON, is about to land.
STEAM: 11.18 | iOS/Android: 11.19
A minimalist space adventure about the last human on Earth searching for a new home.
A collection of minimal invaders that were planned for Retro Unicorn Attack: Challenge Edition, but never made it in!
We’ll find a use for them eventually..
A few more Captain Commander animations today, (before we move on to retrospecting Retro Unicorn Attack on Monday)
Here’s one of the alien dogs in it’s super- complex, frame-filled running animation ;)
More on the level 3 Ship-Bosses of Captain Commander. These guys are a prone to disagreements & freaking out
This is the 5th Boss in Captain Commander, that unfortunately did not make it into the game.
The game turned out to be more complex than we imagined (surprise!) so we had to cut the final two levels. Escape from the alien planet (level 6 - See image here) & survive the descent back down to the surface of Earth (level 7 - we had just started designing this one).
Basically, Captain Commander defeats the Mother Brain, gets all the rescued humans into a space-faring vessel (kinda packing in clown-car style ;), & escape the planet, piloting his way through the alien defenses & space junk, reaching the large 3-piece orbiting Boss. He needed to survive while destroying the shield generator & them jump to FTL speed back to earth.
Once he reaches Earth, since he’s in an alien ship, the Earth military attacks full force. He was to dodge and weave his way down to the surface, where they would finally recognize it was him in the ship. (I guess the Alien ship’s comm-system was busted in the dramatic escape from the planet).
End cut-scene: would have been Captain Commander landing safely with happy banter between he and the earth military commanders, and the rescued scientists all leaping out of the small alien ship,(again clown car style ;)
The end. or is it.. ??
